Utility Connection and Emergency shutoffs
Utility Connection
When you are moving in, you only have to connect Water and Electricity. Gas and hot water are already connected through a common meter (Owners Corporation), so there are no separate bills.
Water – Greater Western Water (formerly City West Water): 131 691
Electricity – Any provider you choose
Internet – NBN, TPG, FTTB, GigaComm Ultra-Fast Non-NBN line 200–1000Mbps available
Electricity
Apartment switchboards are located within your apartment. Please take the time to locate yours. Contact your chosen electricity retailer to arrange for the power to be connected and for billing to be updated to your apartment.
When calling your retailer you should:
a. Advise them of the meter number and the property address.
b. Provide current identification, e.g. driver's licence number, phone numbers, and full names required on the account.
c. Have the main switch (in the apartment switchboard) in the off position before arranging the “Turn On”.
It is to your advantage to arrange the connection to coincide with your occupancy date, to avoid loss of power and inconvenience.

Electricity is metered to your apartment. The switchboard is fitted with circuit breakers for each circuit, which may trip if a fault develops in an appliance. If a trip occurs, isolate the appliance from the power outlet, turn the circuit breaker to the “on” (up) position, then push the reset button on the safety switch.
In the kitchen, above or near the cook top, there is an isolation switch for the electric oven. It is for servicing the oven only, so a technician can turn off the oven without accessing the power point behind it.
To turn the power on after connecting in your name, make sure all circuit breakers and the main switch are in the on (up) position.
If you lose power:
1. Check the circuit breakers at your apartment switchboard and reset if necessary.
2. Check whether power is on in adjoining apartments. If not, contact your electricity supplier's faults number.
3. If this does not resolve the problem, contact an electrician.
Gas
Gas charges are included in the Body Corporate fee. Gas is supplied to the cook top only.
To turn gas on, open the isolation valve in the cupboard under the cook top. For day-to-day use, use the knobs on the cook top.
Note 1: Cook tops include a flame failure device that turns the gas off when the flame goes out. When lighting, hold the ignition down until the flame failure sensor is hot.
Note 2: If the gas supply has been shut off, it may take some time to purge the line before the cook top will light.
Water
Contact Greater Western Water on 131 691 to update records and billing of cold water to your apartment. You should:
1. Advise them of the meter number and the property address.
2. Provide current identification, e.g. driver's licence number, phone numbers, and full names required on the account.
Occupants are invoiced for water consumption. Owners are billed for service charges and annual parks levies.
Hot Water
Hot water is supplied by a recirculating gas hot water system on the roof that services all apartments. If you do not have hot water at any time, please contact the Building Managers.
The hot water supply is fitted with a tempering valve that limits the maximum temperature (a regulatory requirement). It may need adjustment or replacement from time to time, and this should only be done by a plumber.
The cost of hot water (including the gas to heat it) is included in the Body Corporate fees.
